About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Tab manager (“we,” “us” and “our”) handles information when you use the Tab manager Chrome extension, our website at tabmanager.pro and our supporting services.

Tab manager helps you find, group and manage browser tabs and save workspaces. Some functions work locally in your browser; AI search and grouping use a remote service. This policy explains that distinction and the choices available to you.

Our principles

  • Explain data practices in clear language.
  • Keep saved browsing workspaces in your browser.
  • Process page content for AI only in response to a search query or an Organize action, rather than monitoring page content in the background.
  • Use information to provide and protect the service, rather than sell browsing data or use it for advertising.

Information we process

Browser information and local records

The extension reads open-tab titles and URLs, window structure, Chrome tab groups and related tab state to display your workspace and perform the actions you request. Saved sessions contain URLs and supported window/group structure. Undo records and manual grouping choices are also stored locally in your browser.

Information used for AI features

When you use available AI search or grouping, the extension extracts readable text from eligible HTTP or HTTPS pages that Chrome allows it to access. Search requests include your query, page titles and sampled page text. Organize requests include the selected eligible pages’ titles and sampled text, existing group names and sampled text from representative group members. Browser tab and window identifiers and full page URLs are not included as separate model metadata; readable text can itself contain URLs.

The extractor excludes form controls and their values, editable drafts, hidden elements and embedded frames. Incognito tabs, local files and restricted browser pages are excluded from content extraction. These exclusions do not remove personal information that is already part of a page’s visible title or readable text.

Connection and service information

The extension stores a credential for its installation locally so it can connect without an account or password. Our service receives network information such as an IP address and uses installation identifiers and temporary rate-limit records to control access and protect the service. Operational records may include request identifiers, route, duration, token usage, spending records and error codes. Our application logging excludes search queries, page bodies and authorization credentials.

Information you provide

If you email us or submit optional feedback, we receive the information you choose to include, such as your message and contact details. Feedback forms are hosted by Google. Opening a Chrome Web Store review page does not itself submit a review.

How we use information

  • Show your tabs, windows and groups and carry out requested tab-management actions.
  • Save and restore sessions and support Undo.
  • Find relevant pages and suggest groups when you request AI processing.
  • Authenticate installations, manage request limits, monitor service reliability and control service spending.
  • Respond to feedback and privacy requests and improve the service.
  • Meet applicable legal obligations and protect the service and its users.

Where applicable, the grounds for processing include providing services at your request, our legitimate interests in maintaining and securing the service, consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations.

When information leaves your browser

AI processing

AI requests pass through our protected service. Semantic search uses TypeSafe AI’s Jev model. Organize uses OpenRouter to route titles, sampled page text and group context to Alibaba’s Qwen model. We restrict this route to Alibaba and do not automatically fall back to other providers. This means the query and page or group information described above can leave your device. Saved session records and Undo records are not uploaded as part of that AI workflow.

TypeSafe’s handling and retention of submitted data are described in its Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum. OpenRouter’s practices are described in its Privacy Policy; downstream model-provider policies are linked from its data collection documentation. We request routes that disallow provider data collection. We do not promise zero retention by any provider or that removing the extension recalls data already transmitted.

Hosting, feedback and legal disclosure

Hosting and infrastructure providers process information needed to deliver our website and API. Google processes information when you load or submit a Google feedback form or use Chrome Web Store features under Google’s Privacy Policy. We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect legal rights and service security.

Data storage and retention

Sessions, Undo records and manual grouping choices are kept in your browser’s local storage. Saved sessions remain until you delete them or remove the extension. Removing the extension clears its local extension storage.

Extracted page text and search results are temporary local data. They become stale after 24 hours and are removed during normal extension activity. Closing a tab, navigating to another page, changing service identity or revoking site access invalidates relevant derived data. Storage limits may remove older derived data sooner while preserving saved sessions.

AI request bodies are processed in memory by our service; they are not written to our application logs. Operational and spending records are separate from page content. Support correspondence and feedback may be retained as needed to handle the request, maintain service records and meet legal obligations. TypeSafe, OpenRouter, Alibaba and Google have their own retention practices, linked above.

Your choices and privacy rights

  • Control page access: manage the extension’s site-access permissions in Chrome. Pages without access are skipped for content processing.
  • Choose AI actions: AI processing follows search queries or an Organize action. Viewing tabs, matching exact-URL duplicates and saving sessions do not require sending page content for AI processing.
  • Delete local sessions: delete a saved session in the extension. Uninstalling removes local extension data but does not recall previously submitted information.
  • Choose what to share: feedback is optional. Include only the information you want us and the form provider to receive.

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of personal information, object to or restrict processing, or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Email amigushina@gmail.com to make a request. We may need information to verify and handle it. You may also have the right to raise a concern with the relevant data-protection authority.

Cookies and analytics

The Tab manager extension uses Chrome storage and IndexedDB for local records; this is separate from website cookies. The website’s interactive tab preview uses sample data and cannot read your browser tabs.

The welcome and uninstall pages offer optional Google Analytics measurement. Google Analytics loads only after you choose Allow analytics. It receives the page type, a fixed page address and title, browser/device information and network information such as your IP address; it may use analytics cookies to distinguish visits. It does not receive your open tabs, their titles or content, saved sessions, query strings, referring page addresses or feedback answers from our measurement code. Advertising signals and automatic enhanced measurement of clicks, scrolls and forms are disabled. Welcome uses an isolated page on tabmanager.pro so Google code never runs with extension permissions. You can decline or change your choice with Analytics preferences; Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control disable this measurement. Consent is stored locally, separately for the extension and website. Changing it stops future collection on that page and removes the available analytics cookies; it does not delete data already received by Google. Embedded Google feedback forms and external services may use cookies or similar technologies under their own policies. You can choose whether to open or submit optional forms. See Google’s Privacy Policy.

International processing

Our hosting and service providers may process information outside your country of residence. Privacy laws and protections may differ between countries. The provider policies linked in this document explain their processing and transfer arrangements.

Security measures

We use HTTPS for the production API, access credentials, request limits and restricted logging to help protect information. Provider keys are kept on the server, rather than distributed in the extension. Local information is also subject to the security of your device and Chrome profile.

No Internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Children

The service is not directed at children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can review the situation and take appropriate action.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our service or data practices change. Updates will appear on this page with a revised date. Where applicable law requires additional notice, we will provide it.
